- Ingocom is a Packet program for Atari ST.
- It will run maybe on every ST/STE ,
- and the prg is less then 40Kb, a Harddisk is not nessecary.
- Just like Baycom INGOCOM is a prg without needing a TNC,
- only a simple modem is required. (Baycom modem with TCM3105)
- It has 4 channels, and it's easy to use, also ideal for newcomers on packet.
- Unfortunatly still no remote cmd's, but this prg is not a replacement for
- the prg SP (with TNC), but its cheaper and easy to use.
-
- You need the following connections at the serial port:
-
- Signal Atari 25pin-RS232 Modem(ie. Baycom)
- DTR 20 Data to Send
- RTS 4 PTT
- CTS 5 Data to Receive (RXD)
- GND 7 Ground
-
- RING-INDICATOR <-----> RXD Connect pin 22 with pin 5 of
- the RS232 port !
-
- Unlike Baycom for PC you don't need pin 2 (TXD) !
-
- The cmd's are basically the same as those from Digicom.
- The command's below must begin with ":" at the beginning of every new line;
-
- QUIT Leave the program INGOCOM.
-
- PRINTER ON/OFF Printer on/off
-
- CLS Clear screen (RX screen)
-
- WRITE <filename> Every thing received on this port will be saved
- on disk, close with :W OFF
-
- Important: When the fileselectbox is activated
- no packets can be received, so do not wait
- to long, otherwise there will be a disconnect.
-
- MYCALL <call> Your own callsign. :MYCALL PE1NIB
-
- DIRECTORY This command will display the directory to the
- top of the (TX) screen.
-
- DELETE <filename> Delete file.
-
- PASSALL ON/OFF Passal ON will allow corrupted packet to be
- displayed on the screen.
-
- PERM Saves the parameters on disk. (PERM.DAT)
- The next time you start the program these
- automatically will be reloaded.
-
- CONNECT <Callsign> Build a Connect with station "Call".
- :C PI8AIR
-
- TXDELAY x x is time in miliseconds, and is the delay between
- PTT TX and the data being send. (x=1..255)
- :TX 400
-
- DISCONNECT Forces disconnect from other station.
- (no waiting for acknowledge)
-
- RETRY x Sets the number of retrys attempted for disconnect
- mode when no responce is detected. (x=4..255)
- :RETRY 10
-
- FRACK x The number (x=1..255) is the time in seconds
- whereafter the text will be repeated.
- :FRACK 5
-
- RESPTIME x This sets the time (in miliseconds) to wait for
- an I-frame from the other station. (x=10..255)
- :RESPTIME 75
-
- READ Read any text file from disk and send it to
- the connected station.
-
- Important: When the fileselectbox is activated
- no packets can be received, so do not wait
- to long, otherwise there will be a disconnect.
-
- PACLEN x This sets the maximum of characters in a packet.
- (x=1...255)
- :PACLEN 255
-
- IPOLL x A faster confirmation of short frames. (x=0..255)
- :IPOLL 60
-
- GERMAN ON/OFF To switch German character set on/off.
-
- CT ON/OFF To switch connecttext on/off.
-
- ST <Text> Connect text, max. 1 line.
- :ST Hello this is PE1NIB from Wijchen (jo21ut)
-
- MAXFRAME x Sets the maximum of packets in each frame. (x=1..7)
- (for file transfer set this to 1 !) :MAXFRAME 1
- CLOCK hh.mm sets the time
- DATE dd.mm.yy sets the date
- LOG ON/OFF keeps an automatically log
- HBAUD allows to set the baudrate for 1200, 1600 or 2400 Baud.

-
- With the Function keys F1..F4 you can switch between the 4 channels,
- and key F10 is the monitor channel.
- Use <Shift><arrow up/down> to scroll in the RX screen.Control p prints the
- actual rx-screen.Control g switches the actual between German and Englisch
- font.F5 calls the editor. Its still very very simple and will be
- upgradedsometimes. While working in the editor you can load a file withContol r
- and save it with Control w. Control d ereases the text. The editor uses a
- maximum of 200 lines. The ESC key switches in the command mode. If the command
- mode is switchedon, a : will be typed at the beginning of every new line.IngoCom
- should work now on every resolution with a minimum of 640 pixelshorizontal.
-
- As you can see, Ingocom is simple and easy, but still usefull and cheap.
- If you have a digicom modem (with am7910) it is also possible to use it,
- but i prefer modem with TCM3105 becaus it needs only 10mA.
- (This can be supplied directly from the rs232)
- A Digicom modem with AM7910 needs its own powersupply,
- and also needs an extra modification.
-
- Information you can get by the packet adress of "Ingocom-team" (Germany):
- DG6RBB @ DB0EIC
- I hope this translation will do for starting the program INGOCOM.
-
-
- Here is it: The fitting packetprogram for normal modems>>>>INGOCOM
- Now you can take modems like baycom(best fitting) or similar modems with
- connected for using the PTT-key
- The modem must have the following connections:
- Signal Atari 25pin-RS232 Modem(e.E. Baycom)
- DTR 20 Data to Send
- RTS 4 PTT
- CTS 5 Data to Receive
- GND 7 Ground
- TXD 2 Signal for Powercreating(only Baycom)
- RING-INDICATOR<----->RXD please connect too!
- Please send your correction-Files to DG6RBB @ DB0EIC
- The programm have all neccesary functions(multicon,r,w,c,d,printer...)
- Soon I will play in a short function-table for ingocom, but I think don't need
- this! Author is DH5MBC
- And now: HAVE MUCH FUN WITH THIS LOW COST PR!

- BAYCOM BUG 921108/1558Z FD1JGK Thanks for reading this message.
- For all of you Baycom users with INGOCOM and an ATARI, the
- manual says that th DB25 pin 2 is no more used.
- I think that it WILL be used.
- I explain: if pin 2 is not used the regulator input is under 7V
- which gives an output under 5V.
- Now if you leave pin 2 tied you get about 9V in the regulator
- input which gives you the necessary 5V on the regulator output and an
- even more stabilisied 2.7V on the TCM 3105 pin 7.
- Your modem works finer. All of this is said on a pure documentary form.
- Everyonne is free to try it or not... keeping in mind to preserve
- Baycom and the ATARi health....
- Good job, if you try it. JACKY FE6EAU @ FD1JGK-1.FAQI.FRA

- The saga of INGOCOM instability continues... From my initial tests, it seems
- that version 1A is incompatable with TOS 2.06, resulting in the all to
- familiar CRAAAAASH! on transmit, but when run under TOS 1.02, all seems
- to be well... I would be very inter (??? Rest fehlt, Zeile zu lang)
-
- Here are a few tips I have found to be usefull.
- ===============================================
-
- 1: Do not load any desk accessories or autos...
-
- 2: If you have a hard disk, don't bother, run the program from floppy,
- that way you will not have to keep disabling your desk accs and autos
-
- Any feedback as regards this problem will be appretiated.
